General Application Guidelines
Pre-Charging (if not pre-inoculated):
If the biochar is not pre-inoculated, it is recommended to “charge” it by mixing it with compost tea, worm castings, liquid humus, or a microbial inoculant.
Let it sit for 24–48 hours before applying to soil. This prevents nutrient lock-up by saturating the biochar with nutrients and beneficial organisms.
Mixing with Soil or Substrate:
Ratio: Use at 5–20% of total soil volume depending on soil condition and crop needs.
Light dose: 5–10% (for ongoing soil enrichment)
Strong dose: 10–20% (for poor or depleted soils)
Mix thoroughly into the topsoil or potting mix (can be combined with compost or organic fertilizers).
Top Dressing (Optional):
Sprinkle around the base of plants and lightly rake into the top few centimeters of soil. Water well to activate.
Transplanting or New Plantings:
Blend into planting holes or containers at recommended ratios.
Excellent when used during early vegetative stages for microbial colonization and root support.
