Why is phosphorus an important element in growing plants?
Phosphorus (P) is an essential nutrient for almost every type of plant. Phosphorus plays a key role in cellular combustion and energy transfer, therefore phosphorus plays the main role in the plant's energy system. During the flowering phase, additional phosphorus is required, e.g. for the formation of flower cells.
Note: Gradually increase the dose in plant food, because a rapid increase in the concentration of phosphorus can lead to to excessive sugar levels, and thus to flowering or fruit rot in some crops.
